Curiosities: Los Amantes de Teruel

During the third weekend in February, Teruel receives the recreations of the Wedding of Isabel, an event in which we actively participate since we are the starting point of the procession.

The Diego de Marcilla funeral cortege starts from our facilities with hundreds of people dressed in costume dresses that start walking towards the place where the story of the Amantes (lovers) came true.

Isabel de Segura will come out of the crowd to give the kiss that Diego asked her when he was alive and that her, being a married woman, denied him. Moments after that love kiss, Isabel will fall dead on the lifeless body of Diego and, almost uniting their hands, they will bring to life the legend of the Amantes of Teruel.
